Christian Art Lesson Eight

Like looking in a mirror

Man woman looking glass

The first man looked at his wife and it was as if he was looking at himself as he had been before he slept. The woman was made from the sacred supporting part of him -tzela- his front side. The side that had protected his vital organs. (This word is a special word, used for sacred places like the side of the tabernacle).
She was a gift from God.
Now when a man leaves his father's house, he cleaves into his wife and they become one body.

In the beginning woman came from man,
but now man comes from women too, but all come from God (1 Corinthians 11:12).
Equality.
When we look at the body of Christ we are looking at a part of ourselves.
We are one body.
Christ, by His Spirit has come into us and is among us. He completes the body.
We are members one of another (Romans 12:5, 1 Corinthians 12:27).
